Monday Morning Poll: Should a Justice League Movie Move Forward?
Filed under: Casting, RumorMonger, Fandom, Monday Morning Poll
If you're anything like me, upon reading some of the names that were up for roles in the new live action Justice League of America movie, your first response was probably: "Who the f*ck is that?" It's okay to feel that way; most of the actors up for roles are young up-and-comers who don't have many credits next to their name. And in order to be familiar with them, you'd need to watch The O.C. or read Teen Hotties of the Month Magazine. Forget about the film for a moment (which I do not think should be made at this time), my main problem with this cast is that they're so damn young. Armie Hammer, for example, is rumored to be playing Batman. He's 21. He looks like a baby. And am I the only one who expects my Batman and Superman to actually be, ya know, MEN?
As it stands right now, this whole film will feel like a Beverly Hills 90210 Halloween episode, in which everyone dresses up like their favorite superhero. My suggestion: They wait a few years, and instead of launching a live-action film, why not exploit the new 3D IMAX nonsense. Mo-cap the hell out of the thing. Get an older, more experienced and well-known cast to voice the roles. Let poor Christopher Nolan finish his Batman trilogy without having to deal with pics of Armie Hammer as "hottie Batman" leaking all over the web. Launch solo films for Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash before this JLA movie. Sure, one day it might be fun to watch Superman and Batman fight one another, as it's somewhat cool to watch the new Alien vs. Predator movies, but wait until those franchises have run out of steam. Those are my two cents, anyway ... How about you?

Man, this thing is poison! You've got two franchises right now...one that needs a boost (Superman) and one that is firing on all cylinders (Batman.) Why would you want to jeopardize either one? If you have to make a JLA movie (and you don't) I guess I like the animation or motion capture options. Anything to differentiate them from live action.

If the feel it necessary to make JLA movie why not make like Beowulf other than that WB should just concentrate on trying to get the Superman franchise in better shape and continuing the great that being done on Batman

ughh! what horror! Why not concentrate on making whats available better. Superman fans were quite dissapointed in the last movie, hence the low grossing sales in the states! Batman has had so many remakes that personally it confuses me and my kids! And dont get me started on why hollywood is just downright scared to make a Wonder Woman movie! No one wants to be blamed for ruining an American icon, and the people available to write the script know they will not do her justice. After all, who are you going to get to fill those boots! I hate the names they have thrown out for her character now! How sad that they are so greedy and won't consider what the fans want!

The only real problem with this movie is the constant wah wah wah cry baby crap from writers on web sites like this one. If people writing this crap were that good, they would be working at warner Brothers making the damn movies instead of constantly complaining because they don't like something and inventing the news instead of reporting it. George Miller has a lot of experience making movies, so everybody shut the hell up and let him. If the project sucks when he is done, fine, tar and feather him and dump him somewhere, but until then, let him make the damn movie because at this point it doesn't suck. The only think that does suck is morons inventing the news about the movie.
